Ladakh – the Ideal Place for Experiencing Tranquility

Ladakh, the land of mystery never becomes tired of enticing travelers with its snow-clad peaks. The speedy Zanskar and Indus rivers and various streams carrying glaciers from mountains, and lush green valleys, all invoke a tourist’s dream. Pangong Lake

Nubra Valley

The Nubra valley is also known as the Valley of Flowers. The valley is a 150 km drive from Leh. On the way, you can halt at the Khadung La Pass. This pass enjoys the top rank of the highest motorable road in the world. Loading at Numbra is not a problem as there are small hotels and guest houses in Diskit, the main village of Numbra.

Kargil

Kargil was a busy town in Ladakh in the past. Various trade activities used to take place between India, China, Afghanistan, and Turkey through Kargil. Kargil is the second largest town in Ladakh. It lies west of Leh and faces the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The town is peaceful and is home to a number of scenic attractions.

Lamayuru Monastery

Lamayuru monastery is located at an altitude of 3510 meters and about 127 km from Leh. The Red Hat sect of Buddhism maintains the monastery.

When you visit the monastery, you can see beautiful collections of wall paintings, which are rich in murals, color, and scriptures. The landscape is similar to moon land like terrain.

Alchi Monastery

Alchi Monastery is the only monastery in Ladakh, which is situated on flat ground. The monastery boasts wall paintings that belong to the 11th century. The paintings are well preserved.
