Experience more than just the Leaning Tower. Explore the city!

Enjoy a 2 hour guided walking tour of the city of Pisa, exploring the major attractions but also getting to see some of the sites that are off the beaten track and popular with locals.

This walking tour will introduce you to the real City of Pisa – right up to and beyond the iconic Leaning Tower.The itineary is absolutely even, wheelchair accessible and the walking is at leisurely pace.

This is a unique experience to enjoy this unpretentious university city where you will have the opportunity to learn about the history and the monuments but also about every day life of a small and lively Medieval Tuscan town.You will see the City from a different angle – discover hidden lanes, photograph the city from unusual places, see the Leaning Tower and other famous monuments.

You'll meet your guide at the fountain right in front of the train station at 9:45am. The guide will be easily recognizable by the sign with the logo of Pisa Explorer.

The meeting place is very conveniently located.

If you arrive in Pisa by car, you have an underground toll car parking available rigth in the nearby Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. If you arrive by train, you will find your guide immediately as you get out of of the station.There are fast trains departing from Florence every hour at 28 minutes. The one that you need to catch in order to get on time at the meeting point is at 8.28am arriving in Pisa at 9.28am. If you are a cruiser docking at the Port of Livorno you have trains departing from Livorno train station at 8.52am and 9.12am arriving in Pisa in twenty minutes.

The tour is meant for small groups, no more than 15 people at the time.

From the meeting point you will start exploring the city from the southern side all the way to the Leaning Tower on the northern side, learning about the four districts into which the city centre within the perimeter of the Medieval wall is divided.

After visiting the mural by Keith Haring, the largest he ever painted and the only one meant to be permanent, you will stroll along the busy and pedestrian Corso Italia all the way to the river Arno enjoying the view over the beautiful riverbanks and visiting the districts of San Antonio and San Martino with their highlights.

Past the river you'll go through the very heart of Pisa, walking along the Borgo Stretto and visting the districts of San Francesco (Galileo's neighborhood) and Santa Maria.

Continuing towards the Leaning Tower there will be a stop at the beautiful Piazza dei Cavalieri, once the heart of the Medieval Maritime Republic of Pisa, completely redesigned at the end of the Sixtheenth Century by Florentine architects.

Last step will be a visit (all extenal) to the impressive monumental complex of the Cathedral and Leaning Tower.
