GORILLA AND CULTURE EXPERIENCE UGANDA

Day 1:

Tugume Ambrose will pick you up from the airport to transfer to your Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Depart for Kibale National Park from Kampala via Mityana, Mubende and Fort Portal with a stopover for lunch and through the tea plantations arrive to check in at overnight accommodation. Dinner and overnight at selected accommodation

Day 3:

Have early breakfast and head out to search for the habituated Chimpanzees and return for lunch before going out to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a nature walk. Bigodi is host to over 138 bird species, the Black and white Columbus monkey, blue monkey, grey cheeked mangabey and the red tailed monkeys. The Bigodi wetland sanctuary nature walks are an initiative of the local community and a direct way of giving back to the community. Dinner and overnight selected accommodation

Day 4:

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and thereafter transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the crater Lakes area and on arrival have an early lunch before going for the afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Dinner and overnight at selected accommodation

Day 5:

With bags packed have early breakfast or have it packed to enjoy during the game drive in search of wildlife. The highlights of the game drive are: lions, elephants, waterbucks, Uganda Kob among others. (Remember there is no guarantee that you will see all the animals the wild is unpredictable) Continue the game drive heading to Bwindi. Dinner and overnight at selected Lodge/Camp

Day 6:

This is the day for Gorilla tracking. We have early breakfast and go to the Information Center for briefing before embarking on this life time experience with the gorillas. The tracking may last a few hours or a whole day depending on how far they have moved. The maximum allowed time with the gorillas is 1hour to control their behaviour disturbance and disease transmission risks. Dinner and overnight at selected accommodation

Day 7:

With a life time of memories about the gorillas transfer to Lake Mburo National Park after a relaxed breakfast. Arrive and check in for a relaxed and restful evening. Dinner and overnight at selected accommodation.

Day 8:

After an early breakfast go for nature walk in the park accompanied by a game ranger, across the observation platform of the salt lick. Wildlife often collects in this area for a salt lick of the salty soil here. After lunch we go out for a relaxed boat ride down the Eastern banks of Lake Mburo and highlights here include: several bird species, like the fish eagle, colourful king fisher and on a lucky day you might see the shoe bill, animals will include hippos Zebras, plus buffalos, Impala among others. Dinner and overnight at selected Lodge/Camp

Day 9:

Early morning game driver before embarking on return journey to Kampala – Lunch stop along the way. Drop off at an agreed location/Hotel in Kampala.
