Pretoria One Day City Tour
History, Sites and Sounds of the Capital.
We start our day around 9am .
First we start at the Union Building, where I will give you an insight of what it was like to be the Police Security Unit Commander here looking after heads of State and various other VIPs Over the transformation in SA.
From there we dive past the University of Pretoria and Loftus Versveld rugby stadium on our way to the Waterkloof Heights and Johann Rissik Drive.
From this fantastic view point we will point out places of interest.
Next we take a three minute drive to Fort Klapperkop. Nestled on the same hill, this Boer Fort is a restored museum and has some interesting exhibits from that period. The views are spectacular.
We spend an hour here then drive across the Groenkloof Valley Nature Reserve to our next stop the Voortrekker Museum and Schanskop Fort reserve. We will explore both places and see some wildlife as well. We will take in the region of three / four hours here. Plenty to see and do. Lunch can be had at the Voortrekker restaurant.
We now head of to the city center to the Church Suare area and the popular buildings of the ZAR Republic including the Raadsaal and the Paul Kruger statue.
From here our next stop is Kruger House Museum.
Here you will be facinated with the life and dealings of the former ZAR Republic President who was President at the time of the Boer War.
Our next stop is Melrose House Museum.
Place of the signing of the Treaty of Vereenigen and the stage command post for the British during the Boer war after they invaded Pretoria.
Depending on time, we now head back to Johann Rissik (Klapperkop Fort) view point for a sunset.
Our day tour has now ended.
