Kruger National Park (Highlands Meander) Pretoria – Johannesburg 10 Days

Day 1

Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport O.R. Tambo.

Most flights will arrive in the morning and a few during early afternoon.

Meet and greet at airport then arrange your car hire.

Odds and ends shopping and then off to your accommodation in Pretoria (40 mins approx drive).

Lazy afternoon and relax after your flight.

Accommodation is 4/5 star private lodge standard.

Day 2

Second day of relaxation or see the sights and sounds of Pretoria, the capital city.

You may want to also do some shopping for your trip.

Please inform our chaperone who will aid you with your requests.

Day 3

Long Day:

We start early on our journey east. N4 highway to Belfast we then turn off towards Dullstroom.

We stop here for some shopping, refreshments, curio / gift shopping.

Dullstroom is the start of our Highlands Meander and is well know for its trout farming and beautiful landscapes and its period historical town. We now adventure up the Northern Drakensburg (Small Drakensburg) to the top of the mountains.

We will make stops at:

Long Tom Pass and mountain scenic view points.

Sabie Town

Lone Creek Falls

Mac Mac Falls

Graskop Gorge Glass Lift.

We arrive late afternoon in Graskop Town for our accommodation and night stay over.

After Breakfast we head off to our first stop at Gods Window.

We spend an hour here and may visit the Rain Forest at the top off the peak.

There is plenty of curio / gift shopping to be done here.

We then head towards Bourke’s Luck Potholes. We spend a some time here exploring the fascinating pot holes in and around the emerging rivers.

Back on the road our next stop will be the Blyde River Canyon. Third largest in the world after the Grand Canyon and Fish River Canyon.

We spend on average an hour here exploring the breath taking views. Three Sisters (Rondavels)

We then drive from the Highveld down to the Lowveld, down off the mountains via the Abel Erasmus Pass and along the Olifants River with its scenic pass views and abundant fruit farms.

We enter the Kruger National Park at the appointed gate (depending on accommodation arrangements) and settle in for the night after a sundown at the camp viewpoint / bar.

We should be in our accommodation no later that 6pm depending on time off year.

Day 4

Kruger NP Day Game viewing drive.

Day 5

Kruger NP Day Game viewing drive .

Note: Night Safari Drives can be arranged with Parks Board Officials at your own cost.

Day 6

Last day Kruger National Park

Day 7

After breakfast and leaving shortly after 10 am, we drive back towards Pretoria stopping for snacks and refreshments along the way.

Drive time with stops approx 7 hours

Arrive accommodation in Pretoria late afternoon.

Note: We may take a detour to the Highlands Meander again in case there is something else you would like to see or see again. Please inform your chaperon so he/she can make arrangements.

Day 8

Relaxation at your Pretoria accommodation

Shopping, restaurant or sight seeing arrangements can be made.

Day 9

Gold Reef City Johannesburg

Pretoria City Tour

Pretoria Boers, Brits and Forts (Including Voortrekker Monument)

Day 10

Check out and Departure to airport for your flight.
