2 days mount toubkal trek
CLIMB TO THE TOUBKAL ITINERARY
DAY 1 : MARRAKESH – IMLIL (1740m) – TOUBKAL REFUGE (3200m)
5/6 HOURS HIKE
Our driver will pick you up at your hotel or hostel at 8 o'clock in the morning to drive to Imlil. Once the reservation is made, you will be informed of the requirements for your collection. In any case, it should be ready by 7 in the morning.
Imlil is a Berber village located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It is 1,740 meters (5,700 feet) above sea level and is located about 65 km (40 miles) south of Marrakech. It is here that the first day of the excursion will begin.
A team of muleteers will meet us here and take care of our luggage, food and any other belongings you may have brought. An experienced and official mountain guide will take you on this excursion that will start with several small Berber villages. We will pass through the mountain sanctuary of Sidi Chamharouch. At this point we will be over 8000 feet above sea level and not far from our mountain refuge.
We will make a stop to have a picnic prepared in advance by our cook and rest for a while before continuing up the mountain. At 10,500 feet above sea level there is a refuge where you can enjoy a delicious mint tea, a nice hot shower to wash off the dust, and a rest to prepare for the next day.
DAY 2 : TOUBKAL REFUGE (3200m) – TOUBKAL SUMMIT (4167m) – IMLIL – MARRAKECH
4/5 HOURS HIKE
In the summer months you may have the option of using the tents to sleep at night. Normally, in the morning and regardless of the season, the sun shines brightly and breakfast is served to our climbers at 5 in the morning.
It is necessary to start early so that we can start our ascent up the mountain by 5:30 in the morning. Most of the climb will be uphill, and should take about four hours (including a short break halfway up).
We will give you nuts, oranges and water, and you will see more and more splendid views as we continue to climb. Once at the summit, you will be able to rest for about 45 minutes before we begin the descent.
Here you can take pictures and enjoy being on the highest peak of the Atlas Mountains. When we return to the refuge, we will eat and then continue our descent to Imlil. From here we will take you back to Marrakech. INCLUDED:
