3D2N KOMODO ADVENTURE--Discover Komodo National Park's People, Nature & Culture
Day 1: DENPASAR - LABUAN BAJO – RINCA ISLAND – KALONG ISLAND ( -/ L/ D).
Upon arrival at Komodo airport of Labuan Bajo West Flores, meeting service then transfer directly to harbour for embarking on a motorized fisherman’s wooden boat to Rinca Island. It takes approx 2 hours to Rinca island. Lunch on board. Arrive at Loh Buaya Rinca Island, follow the trail until we reach the Forestry Conservation Post for registering your ID and purpose of visit. Continue trekking inland includes Gunung Ara for approx 3 hours in search for Komodo Dragons in their natural habitats. Scientists call this giant reptile as “Varanus Komodoensis” while local people call it as “ORA’. Usually some of these reptiles stay around under the stage of ranger’s house. Other visible wildlife on this island includes water buffalos, wild boar, deer, monkey, and various colorful tropical birds. At a higher view point Rinca offers a spectacular view over the island’s landscape and the sea. Trek down back to boat and sailing towards Kambing island for an afternoon freshen up swimming. In the afternoon sail to Kalong island (Kalong=flying foxes) to see thousands of bats flying out of their nests to hunt for evening meals. They will return the next early morning. Dinner and stay overnight On Board (well organized for your comfort).
Day 2: KALONG ISLAND – KOMODO ISLAND – PINK BEACH – LABUAN BAJO ( B/ L/ D).
Breakfast on boat while sailing closer to Loh Liang station then take an hour mild trekking to Banugulung–former feeding ground to see the Komodo Dragons in the wild. During our way into the “Jurassic Park” you may see colorful birds, wild boar, deer, and other natural livings. Since feeding activity has stopped some years ago as to let the Komodo Dragons going back to their natural habitats, opportunity to see the Komodo Dragon itself is quite a wait and patient. On our way back to the boat have a short stop at Komodo cafe as to allow you do some shopping for Komodo branded T’ shirt, hat, key hanger, statue of Komodo dragon and a lot more are on display. Similar to Rinca, at Komodo also there are still several Komodo Dragon stays around under the rangers’ house. Back to boat for having lunch while sailing to Pantai Merah (Pink Sandy Beach). It named Pantai Merah because of the red coral on the seabed breaks off with the tidal changes and mixes with sand, causing it to turn a pale pink colour. Here you can spend sometimes for snorkeling or swimming in the clear crystal water–a lot of beautiful coral reefs and colorful fishes to explore beneath this sea including parrot fish, clown fish, and turtles too. Or you can just lying down and having sun bathing on beautiful pink sandy beach. After admiring the beautiful under water then continue sailing to Taka Makassar to see Mantas (depend on the weather….). Next sail to Kanawa island. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and stay overnight On Board.
Day 3: LABUAN BAJO – DENPASAR ( B/ -/ -).
Breakfast on board. Sailing to Bidadari island for more snorkelling, swimming or just having fun on the white sandy beach. Transfer to Komodo airport for your flight back to Denpasar.
