3 Day Naadam Festival with group including Opening Ceremony
It's the most wonderful time to visit Mongolia. The original and still the best, the 3 day festival with hundreds of wrestlers, horse rangers from all over the Mongolia to join and compete their best. And you are here to experience this authentic tradition and culture all at once for the best. Now more than 700 years old, the historic festival is a folk celebration of Mongolian culture. Day 1: July 10 - Pre-Naadam Day with art and history exploration (L, D)
Pick you up from your hotel. We will take a preview of the Festival by the stadium to see some training wrestlers, archery competition between "Shagai" shooters and go to the National History of Museum. After we're having some lunch we will take a part of the "Deel - Traditional costume parade". (bring your photo camera, you don't want to miss many beautiful colorful costumes and traditional folk music performance). After a little break, we're going to have some dinner and ready for the Mongolian traditional opera performance in the park (bring your extra blanket in case temperature drops in the evening). Bring you back to your hotel.
Day 2: July 11 – The Opening Ceremony of Naadam (L,D)
We may ask you to meet early in 8.00 before the city traffic takes over. We go to the stadium and be seated for the Opening Ceremony. You're going to see shows and performance and as well as the Grand Wrestling match kick-off (512 wrestlers for 9 rounds). After we take our lunch we're going to watch the archery competition and take some break. We will re-group for the dinner and rock concerts with laser lighting shows.
Day 3: Spirit of the Naadam - (L)
We're going to pick you up from your hotel as usual and drive out of city to the Horse Field. /25km/
Enjoy the spirit of the horse and its jockey kids. The Mongolian take this day very serious and called "Spiritually up-lifting". We will visit true horse rangers from the region and enjoy some airag (fermented horse meal) and barbecue.
We're going to go the Zaisan Hill for the sunset and will conclude this trip. Bring you back to your hotel.
