Sardarapat is a monument devoted to the battle of Sardarapat, which took place from 22-28 May in 1918, between regular Armenian military units and Ottoman army that had invaded Eastern Armenia and was trying to move further.
On our way back we will visit St. Echmiadzin, which is the holy center of all Armenians. According to scholars this was the first cathedral built in ancient Armenia and is considered the oldest cathedral in the world.
Zvartnots is a 7th century Armenian cathedral built by the order of catholicos Nerses the Builder. The ruins of Zvartnots remained buried until the 20th century.
