This tour is the most macho around. It is market at small groups of 4-6 men who wish to experience the desert and the human bonding of a hunt.
We only offer single sex groups. Anyway this is the biggest man cave on earth. The only exclusion is family groups.
The food consists mostly of meat and barbeque so don't expect wimp food or service. If you are halaal we will take along prepared halaal food. (at your expense)
The is no room service so don't expect your bed to be made.
The is no mobile phone coverage so forget about chatting on the phone. We do however have Wifi so you can use your Whatsapp or email.
You are welcome to bring your own hunting arms, mountain bikes, scrambler bikes etc. Let us know. We hitch a trailer for the extra load.
DAY 1 TRAVEL TO THE RESERVE
We depart Cape Town for Wellington and the renowned Bain's Whiskey Distillary. A few drinks there and then over the stunning Bain's Kloof Pass and on to the wineries in Worcester district. We enter the Karoo Desert Plateau via the Hex Rivier Pass and proceed via a miserable gravel road and dirt track to the Lodge.
Here we have a drink, barbeque and discuss the next day's events.
DAY 2 MARKMANSHIP, GAME DRIVE AND HUNTING
Guests are taught basic marksmanship on heavy bore hunting rifles. Guests are welcome to bring their own rifles and handguns. We do a drive of the 4000 hectare hunting reserve (optional bagging of a springbok or other antelope). We visit some Bushman paintings and generally have a good time. There are TV's and satellite TV so if you need to watch a Springbok match we may do it.
The lodge is equipped with a slaughter room to work meat of the game shot.
The evening is again spent in front of the fire.
DAY 3 HUNTING, RELAXATION AND RETURN JOURNEY
On the 3rd day we have the option of another drive and optional hunt in the morning. We depart the venue after lunch for the return journey via Du Toitskloof Pass.
