Language English
Price 300,00 USD for excursion
Capacity Group of up to 5 people

This is an excursion from Addis to visit the interesting hand carved rock church of Adadi Mariam(13th Century AD). This church is a great illustration of the 11 incredibly hand cut rock churches of King Lalibela in the Northern Ethiopia.

We, then, will have a typically Ethiopian Coffee ceremony at a local family of the Oromo tribal people. After that we will visit the steles of Tiya(14th Century AD and UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE). These steles are about 40 stone grave markers decorated with carvings erected in memory of important warriors.

Finally, we will have a stop at the local family of the Gurage people who are noted for their cultivation of Enset or False Banana from which they prepare porridge and bread. Totally, we drive 170 km on asphalt road and 24 km on dirt road. Price includes private minibus and professional & experienced tour guide.
