Ballestas Islands is a Natural Area Protected by The Peruvian State, divided in three parts, Centre, South and North Ballestas.

It is a beautiful place where you can find billions of sea birds on the top or in the cliffs that you can not count, sea lions swimming over the boat where you stay or maybe find a big group of Humboldt Penguins that at almost nine in the morning going to the sea to eat anchovies, which is a kind of fish most abundant in the Peruvian Coast.

If you want to go to that place you have to pay your taxes or your fees (Thirteen Soles or Five dollars) last almost two hours and the trip is by boat, you stay there all the time because you can not disembark.

Note: this Island is 18 kilometers far from the coast, in the way to the Island you will see an interesting geoglyph named Candelabrum located in the north part of Paracas´ peninsula, the boat will stop and the guide will explain you about the origin of this figure.
