The name of the street “Ordynka” speaks for itself. Once upon a time in this part of Zamoskvorechye people from the Horde lived. They were Tatars and Russian palace servants who conveyed the documents from the Grand Duke to the Horde. This Moscow district hadn’t been densely populated and under development for a long time, till 17th century. Here arable fields and royal gardens stretched. With time numerous settlements began to appear. Mainly craftsmen and artisans lived and worked there. Great Ordynka st. still keeps the imprint of the past.
