The Unique Monastery of Bachkovo is the 2nd in Bulgaria, dedicated to the Dormition of Holy Mother of God. Founded in 1083 It is famous with the specific architecture of its monastic buildings and churches, covered by ancient frescos and valuable icons. From there a little walk for about 1 h leads us to the miraculous spring in the heart of the reserve Red Wall rich in caves, waterfalls and chapels. Combined with a visit of medieval fortress Assen and the ancient city of Plovdiv this journey offers plenty of cultural discoveries from Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and Bulgarian Revival histories.
The price of 39 euro per person (for +4 persons), includes pick up and drop off from your address in Sofia, all the transfers, certified mountain guide for the walk in the Reserve "Red Wall" and guided visit in the Monastery, the Fortress and in the old town of Plovdiv.
