Kompong Khleang - Stilted, Floating Houses
We’re departing at 8.00am to explore Kompong Khleang village, is located at the edge of Tonle Sap Lake about 48km from the central town. On the way, we visit Bamboo sticky rice, is one of Cambodian traditional famous snack made from sticky rice mixed with black beans and grated coconut flesh and all is stuffed into the inside of the green bamboos and cooked over the wood fire. Arrived at the village, we embark private sheltered boat to discover amazing stilted houses standing over 8-10 high poles, witness daily life animated by the activities of fishing, learn about life working on the water, fishing techniques and take photos of interesting activities. Further out, visit Tonle Sap - the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia, an ecological hot spot that was designated as a UNESCO biosphere in 1997. Transfer back to hotel.
