This tour covers famous beaches of chennai, mahabalipuram, pondicherry and kovalam.

This has always been a hot favorite for a lot of european and north american riders to escape the severe winter weather in their home countries. This tour covers famous beaches of chennai, mahabalipuram, pondicherry and kovalam. Temples of madurai, tanjavur, tuticorin and kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of india (cape of comorin), back waters of alleppey, wildlife of thekkady, tea plantation of munnar and ooty and the maharaja city of mysore with its bazaars, temples and palaces and village home stay in palakkad a small town in kerala and the highest mountain of south india doddabetta (2624 m / 8660 ft) is another highlight of this tour.The southern part of India called South India, covering states of Andhra Pardesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The region of South India also known as Dravida as is used in National Anthem of India. A majority of South Indians speaks Dravidian language: Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. Other languages speaks in South India is English and Hindi. The Culture of South India is very similar to South Asia & Southeast Asia, because many dynastic Kingdom of South India ruled over the South and Southeast Asia. South India is essentially the celebration of the eternal universe through the celebration of the beauty of the body and motherhood which is exemplified through their dance, clothing and sculptures. Rice is the main diet in all over south India, while fish is an integral component of costal south Indian meals.

Itinerary

DAY 1

ARRIVE IN CHENNAI

We will meet you at Chennai Airport and transfer you to your Hotel. Because fellow group members may be arriving on different flights, we will wait to meet the fellow group members on the next day at the breakfast table and the staff at the dinner table.

DAY 2

CHENNAI – MAHABALIPURAM – PONDICHERRY (150 KMS / 3 – 4 HRS)

The road from Chennai to Pondicherry (the East Coast Road, commonly called ECR) is a scenic highway and a normal journey would take about 3 – 4 hours en route we will visit Mahabalipuram. Before entering into Pondicherry we will visit Auroville and later The French Riviera of the East (La Côte d’Azur de l’Est).

DAY 3

PONDICHERRY – TANJAVUR (180 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)

Post breakfast we start our ride through the villages and famous temple cities to Tanjavur. We will visit some famous temples of Chidambaram and Kubakonam before reaching Tanjavur. Evening visit the famous Big Temple of Tanjavur.

DAY 4

TANAJVUR –MADURAI (200 KMS 5 – 6 HRS)

Post breakfast we continue our journey to Madurai the famous city of Meenakshi Temple world heritage site. Evening visit the Temple and the Nayak Palace.

DAY 5

MADURAI – TUTICORIN / THOOTHUKUDI (150 KMS / 3 – 4 HRS)

Post breakfast further ride to Tuticorin the port city famous for pearl diving, fishing and shipbuilding. Evening visit the beach.

DAY 6

TUTICORIN / THOOTHUKUDI – KANYAKUMARI (160 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)

Today we will ride along the coastal road through small villages and smelling the dry fish with the cool breeze coming from the Ocean.

DAY 7

KANYAKUMARI – KOVALAM (100 KMS / 3 – 4 HRS)

Today we will enter in Kerala and ride through the west coast road to Kovalam the famous beach for Indian and Foreign tourist.

DAY 8

KOVALAM – ALLEPPEY (160 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)

Today also we will ride along the west coast road to the famous back waters tourist place in Kerala Alleppey.

DAY 9

ALLEPPEY – THEKKADY (150 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)

Post breakfast we continue our journey from the back waters to the wildlife reserve Periyar in Thekkady.

DAY 10

THEKKADY – MUNNAR (110 KMS / 3 – 4 HRS)

Today we will ride through the tea plantations, pristine valleys and mountains- exotic species of flora and fauna with the aroma of spice scented in the cool air. Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days

DAY 11

MUNNAR – COCHIN (130 KMS / 3 – 4 HRS)

Today we ride through the Tea and Spice Plantations to the busy city of Kerala. We will visit the famous sites of Cochin.

DAY 12

COCHIN – PALAKKAD (150 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)

Today we ride to Palakkad a small town of Kerala and will stay in a Home Stay in the village. This is also a highlight of this tour.

DAY 13

PALAKKAD – OOTY (150 KMS / 5 – 6 HRS)

Today we ride back in Tamilnadu climbing up the highest point in South India through the tea coffee and spice plantations. We will ride upto the highest mountain Doddabetta (2624 M / 8660 FT) of South India which is 10 Kms from Ooty.

DAY 14

OOTY – MYSORE (150 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)

Today is our last day of riding to the Maharaja city of Mysore. We will visit the Palace and Temple.

DAY 15

MYSORE – CHENNAI.

Morning free to explore the town on your own. Afternoon transfer to the railway Station to board the fast train to Chennai. Arrive Chennai in the late evening, transfer to your Hotel.

DAY 16

CHENNAI

Transfer to the Airport to board the flight back home.
