Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is suitable for the adventure seekers who want to experience the real Nepal yet have short time and unwillingness to go to higher altitude. Join this trek to experience the rich natural and cultural heritages in a short period of time.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking provides you with one of the most beautiful beginning you can ever experience and so is the ending of the trail. You begin the trek from the enchanting beauty of Pokhara city and progress along the bank of Bhurungdi River, through the small settlement of Birethanti that lies at the confluence of Modi River and Bhurungdi River. You either reach Pokhara through road on a travel of 6-7 hours or by a flight of around 30 minutes. Trekking along the favorable and low elevation landscape, trekkers pass through dense forest and vegetation adorned by rhododendron, orchids and magnolia and inhabited by White-breasted kingfisher, Highland Butterfly and other animals. We pass through the settlements such as Tikhedhungga, Ulleri, Nayathati and Banthati before we reach to Ghorepani, the ancient stoppage for the traders en route to Tibet where they fed their horses with water giving the name Ghorepani to this place. The pre-dawn trekking to Poon Hill to view the sunrise is the highlight of this trek. Trekkers set themselves on the hilltop armed with cameras as they wait to capture the beautiful moment of sunrise. The Sun slowly rises up the horizon; the silhouette of mountains is slowly seen followed by the crevasses of hills, outlines of valleys and houses and finally the sun rises over the range of mountains including the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, Manaslu massifs and the sacred Machhapuchhre or Fishtail Mountain. The moment when sun paints the earth with its golden rays is truly magical sight. After experiencing the dreamlike sight in the Poon Hill, we shall head for another famous Gurung village of Ghandruk to end the trekking experience in this region. Famous for uniquely arranged houses, warm hospitality, rich and peculiar culture and tradition, magnificent views of the Himalayas and the museum preserving the authentic cultural and traditional heritages, Ghandruk is another attraction in this trek. We then head for Pokhara via Nayapul and back to Kathmandu to end the trek officially.

Ghorepani Poon Hill trekking leads the trekkers into the Annapurna conservation area, the villages with ancient and cultural significance and some of the most breathtaking sceneries in the entire region. Being a low altitude trekking, trekkers need to have normal physical fitness and endurance to trek for 3-4 hours a day in average in the hilly terrain. Join the team of Nepal Trekking Planner to experience the professional and quality service, experienced and qualified guide carefully designed itinerary and customized service as per the need of the trekkers. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking can be done any time of the year but March to May and September to December remains the best times to go.
