The last days of the Romanovs family in St. Petersburg

Language English, Russian
Price 140,00 USD for excursion
Capacity 10 persons max
Duration 6 hours

The last 12 years of the Romanovs’ reign in Russia the royal family resided not in the capital (then St.Petersburg), but in Tsarskoye Selo (there were certain reasons for it).

During the excursion to Tsarskoye Selo we visit Alexandrovsky Palace, where the family lived their happy years and later in 1917 spent 5 months under home arrest after February Revolution. The Palace exhibition gives some idea of their family and personal life.

A unique architectural ensemble of Fyodorovsky Gorodok was put up near the Palace to celebrate the tercentenary of the dynasty in 1913. Its constructions imitate the old Russian Mediaeval architecture of the time, when the first Romanov tsar was enthroned, and so does St.Theodor’s (Fyodorovsky) Cathedral. Now the Cathedral is active, thoroughly restored and unearthly beautiful. Empress Alexandra used to spend hours praying for her morbid infant-heir.

A nice walk in the splendid royal park will add to one’s impressions.

The price includes guide and car services
