If you consider to arrive a day or two days before the tour starts get out and explore Johannesburg, a city of remarkable contrasts. Perhaps visit the culturally rich areas of Newtown, Braamfontein or Maboneng. The eye-opening Apartheid Museum is well worth your time.For youy safety and peace of mind make sure that if you explore Johannesburg without a guide ,I advise you to get local advice as to where it is safe to walk, especially in the evening.
