MADAGASCAR WILDLIF SAFARI HIGHLIGHT

DAY 1 : YOUR HOME COUNTRY – ANTANANARIVO

***YOU ARE MOSTE WELCOME TO MADAGASCAR***

I will meet you at the International airport Ivato on your Arrival in Antananarivo (known as Tana) after your formality Transfer to your hotel near the airport Tana. Rest & Recreation to recoup after the long flight. Overnight at au Bois Vert . Breakfast included.

DAYS 2 : Tana – Ankarafantsika National Park

Early departure from Antananarivo to Ankarafantsika National Park. Evening guided walk in the park in search of nocturnal lemurs, such as mouse lemurs, etc. lemurs, etc.Overnight at Blue VangaLodge . Breakfast included.

DAYS 3 : Ankarafantsika National Park

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning visit of Ankarafantsika National Park. Discover several species of lemur, such as the Mongoose Lémur Mongoz, the black faced Coquerel’s Sifaka and the recently described noctural Golden-brown mouse lemur. Several rivers run through the forest, wich is renowned for its rich timber trees in particular for many species of palissandre or Rose wood.Overnight at Blue Vanga Lodge

DAYS 4 : Ankarafantsika – Tana

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive back to Tana. Rest & Recreation to recoup Overnight at Au Bois Vert . Breakfast included.

DAYS 5 : ANTANANAIVO – ANTSIRABE

Transfer to Antsirabe, south of Tana, by a comfortable car with your English-speaking driver-guide. Recoup from the long trip from the States before dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Overnight at Green park Hotel.Breakfast Included .

DAYS 6 : ANTSIRABE – MORONDAVA

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning transfer to Morondava. Stop for lunch in Miandrivazo. Enjoy outstanding scenery and landscape to Madagascar West coast. Late afternoon arrival in Morondava.rest and enjoy the white sand beaches .Overnight at Trecigone

DAYS 7 : Morondava – Kirindy

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive for approximately 1h30 to Kirindy forest, north of Morondava. Quick stop at Baobab Avenue for photo-ops. Start an introductory nature walk in the forest to observe endemic red-fronted brown lemurs, sifaka and other endemics in this dry deciduous forest. Birds and reptile species here are also abundant Night walk to look nocturnal lemurs and their predator, the fosa in order to observe their behavior in nature. Overnight at Relais du Kirindy

DAYS 8 : Kirindy – Morondava

Last morning to spend at Kirindy Forest and learn more about the surviving wildlife in this unique natural reserve. Mid-afternoon drive back to Morondava. Take a detour to the Baobabs in love. Stop by sunset at the famous Baobab Avenue to experience memorable photo-ops. Enjoy a memorable zebu cart ride around the Baobab Avenue. Overnight at Trecigone.

Days 9 : Morondava – Antsirabe

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Depart for a long picturesque drive back to the highlands to Antsirabe. Stop for lunch in Miandrivazo. Late afternoon arrival in Antsirabe.

Days 10 : Antsirabe – Ranomafana National Park

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive to Ranomafana. stop at Ambositra, Madagascar’s handicrafts capital. Arrival in Ranomafana by the end of the afternoon. Opening night walk in the park with your naturalist guide. Overnight at Gaspard

Days 11 : Ranomafana National Park

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning visit of Ranomafana National Park teeming with endemics, such as the critically endangered greater bamboo lemur, and other species namely Golden Bamboo lemur, Milne Edward’s sifaka and endemic reptiles, frogs, birds and plant species… Overnight at Gaspard

DAYS 12 : Ranomafana – Antsirabe

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive back to Antsirabe. Enjoy amazing typical scenery of the highlands of Madagascar. Arrival in Antsirabe by end of the afternoon. Overnight at Green Park

DAYS 13 : Antsirabe – Antananarivo

After breakfast, City tour of Antsirabe, known for its volcanic high plateau and hot springs, and for its interesting history. Drive to a fantastic crater lake called Tritriva and try to discover endemic birds here. After Lunch, drive back to Tana. Overnight at Lavillette

DAYS 14 : ANTANANARIVO – ANDASIBE

After breakfast in Tana. Then 3-hour drive to Andasibe on a comfortable 4x4 with your English-speaking driver-guide. Stop for a couple of hours at Peireyras Reptile Reserve to discover and photograph more chameleons, leaf-tailed geckoes, snakes and tomato frogs, etc. Colorful butterflies, comet moths can also be observed here. Evening guided walk along the park in search of nocturnal lemurs, such as mouse lemurs, dwarf lemurs, wooly lemurs, etc.

Overnight at Feon’ny Ala Lodge. Breakfast included.

DAYS 15 : ANDASIBE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, morning hike in Andasibe Park, known as the Indri Special Reserve where endemism in biodiversity is particularly high. The park has an interesting interpretation center at the entrance. The highlights include the indri indri, the Madagascar’s largest lemur species, Parson’s chameleon, day geckoes, and over a hundred bird species. Admire the view of eastern montane rainforest and its epiphyte plants, such as orchids, bird-nest ferns. After lunch, visit a different part of the park with your naturalist guide. Continue on with another night walk to look for more lemur species and other fascinating endemics.

DAYS 16 : ANDASIBE – ANKAN’NY NOFY

Early breakfast at the hotel. Drive on the picturesque NR 2 to Manambato, a small village in front of Rasoabe Lake with an amazing sand white beach, followed by a short boat ride to Ankanin’ny Nofy overlooking Rasoamasay Lake and the manmade Pangalannes channel. Introductory afternoon guided walk into the Palmarium, a privately-owned nature reserve home to rare Madagascar lemurs, such as the indri. Truly special guided evening walk in the reserve to see the aye aye, the most interesting-looking and a critically endangered lemur species in Madagascar.

DAYS 17 : ANKAN’NYNOFY

Breakfast at the hotel. Whole day tour exploring , with your knowledgeable English-speaking naturalist guide, the small but fascinating Palmarium Reserve and its beautiful rainforest, in search of diurnal lemurs, more particularly the indri. Afternoon visit of the tropical village on the Indian Ocean to discover a local market, fishermen, Niaouli essential oil distillation units…Another guided night walk in the reserve. Overnight at Palmarium Hotel. Breakfast included

DAYS 18 : ANKANIN’NY NOFY - ANTANANARIVO
