2 Day Manzushir Temple and Terelj National Park Tour overnight at nomad family
If you have very limited time to see Mongolia, this is a perfect tour for you. Terelj National Park is a great place to visit because it is only a short ride away from Ulaanbaatar where you could enjoy the natural scenery with open fields, gorgeous mountains and much more.
On this tour, you will be taken on a horse or camel ride, meet a nomadic family and visit the tallest statue in the world and monastery.
Also visit the most amazing Manzushir Monastery: Lies on the southern part of the Bogd Khan Mountain, at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level. A short visit to the Local Nature Museum will introduce you to some of the wildlife and natural beauties of the area before a short walk brings you to the monastery.
The Manzushir Monastery was destroyed in the 1930s, but a reconstruction project is underway. The ruins of the original monastery, dating from 1733, are clearly visible.
We are leaving the city early in the morning and we can get there within an hour. It is important for us to see as much as greatest historic and true nomadic lifestyle outside the city within short period of time.
Day 1. In the morning go to Manzushir Monastery. Visit to museum. After we drive to Chinggis Khan Monument is located within an hour. You will see true nomadic lifestyle as soon as you travel outside of the city of Ulaanbaatar. Chinggis Khan Monument is an extremely tall stainless steel statue of Ghengiis Khaan. You may take an elevator ride up to the horse neck with spectacular view of the surrounding area. There is also a small archaeology museum in the base of the statue with ubiquitous souvenir shops. You may try on traditional Mongolian costumes at the museum. After visiing Statue, we will drive to a nomadic family in Terelj National Park. Terelj National Park is one of the beautiful national parks of Mongolia. The park also has a Buddhist monastery that is open to visitors. Park wildlife includes brown bears and over 250 species of birds and you will have a chance to see a lot of animals such as yaks, sheep, goats and horses hanging out around this National park. The Tuul River flows through the park. The park has interesting formatted rocks and includes two famous formations named for things they resemble: Turtle Rock and the Old Man Reading a Book. Once we got to the National Park we will have a welcome lunch with the host family who will guide us to the horseback riding following days, wonder around the area and cook Mongolian National foods with the host family followed by an overnight stay in a ger.
Day 2: After having breakfast with the family, we will do horseback riding to the rock called Turtle and the Buddhist temple. Coming back to UB will be made in the afternoon. We truly hope this would be the most amazing trip to meet nice and hospital local nomad people and be in beautiful wild nature and become memorable and unforgettable trip of your life.
