Kilimanjaro Expedition Overview
Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the seven summits. It stands tall as the highest peak in Africa with a height of 5,895m ( 5.895km). The mountain is a conical volcano with large hardened larva depositions. It has three volcanic cones: Kiba being the highest, Shiba being the lowest, and Mawenzi in the middle. The first one is a dormant one that still has the chance to erupt. The latter two are extinct volcanoes. Mount Kilimanjaro lies in Tanzania, Africa within the Kilimanjaro National Park, which is home to diverse natural forests, vegetation, and animals. The journey of the Kilimanjaro Expedition is truly enchanting and adventurous at the same time.
Kilimanjaro Expedition is climbed through the Machame route. This is one of the most exciting and adventurous routes to follow. The climbers get to experience various vegetation as well as climatic conditions while ascending this route. They can experience the steepness of the route as well as many overnight campings. The expedition includes passing through the rich rainforest. Moreover, it comprises giving its climbers a taste of deserts and glaciers too. They also get to experience the beautiful and breathtaking views of sunsets as well as of the diverse landscapes during their ascend.
Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Flying from native country to reach Arusha, Tanzania by the evening of day 2.
Day 2: Arriving at Tanzania through Kilimanjaro International Airport
Day 3: Briefing and preparation for the expedition
Day 4: Driving to Machame gate, camp will be set
Day 5: Trekking to Great Rift Valley, camp will be set
Day 6: Trekking to Barranco Wall, camp will be set
Day 7: Trekking to Karanga Valley, camp will be set
Day 8: Trekking to Barafu hut, camp will be set
Day 9: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and then descending Mweka camp in the same day
Day 10: Descending to Machame gate and returning to hotel
