Gabriel Villablanca Bars is a tour guide in Chile

36 Years old, Technical in Tourism with 12 years experience.

As the child of missionaries, I spent much of my childhood living in a motorhome, moving around different countries in the region. As an adult, I realized that, for me, the best way to continue to explore new cultures and meet new people would be through tourism!

My dad is Chilean and my mom is Brazilian, yet I grew up all over South America. As the child of missionaries, I spent much of my childhood living in a motorhome, moving around different countries in the region. Growing up in this unique way, I was lucky to learn about all the interesting cultures in the region, to see the beauty and diversity, to meet interesting people from all walks of life, and, of course, to have many adventures! As an adult, I realized that, for me, the best way to continue to explore new cultures and meet new people would be through tourism. After years of working in Chilean tourism, I decided I wanted to start my own business so that I could really give my clients a more personalized and authentic view of my home country. For me, hosting a tour shouldn’t be a job; it should be like you are caring for a good friend. That’s how I approach every single one of my tours, as if I am showing a friend around my home!
