Gokyo via Chola Pass Trek is a fascinating and most scenic adventure destination around the high Khumbu of Everest Region in Nepal. Besides the lakes, is the ascent of Gokyo Ri, just behind the village providing unbelievable views of Cho-Oyu and Everest. The trek follows the Base Camp route, passing through the vibrant town of Namche Bazaar. Alongside, the spectacular site of Tyangboche where a magnificent monastery sits amidst a snow-capped mountain panorama. Following reaching Everest Base Camp is simply unbeatable and makes this detour (west of Everest) more scenic, serene. Also more challenging and completely worth your time and effort and soaking up the icy wilderness sanctuary. Everest Trek route takes the summit of Kala Patthar, a spectacular viewpoint to appreciate Everest in all her glory. In addition, mountains as far as the eye can see, covered in a blanket of snow.
After that reach Dzongla. The views of Ama Dablam and Taweche are spectacular. After the Zhongla ascent, we continue towards Gorak Shep then climb to Everest Base Camp (5364m) and Kala Pattar (5545m). Here, we enjoy an impressive up-close view of Everest. Our return route passes through Tengboche, a magnificent location with a fascinating monastery, where we rest and savor the incredible scenery, including magnificent views of Everest, Ama Dablam (6856m), Kantega (6809m), Kwangde (6194m), Nuptse (7879m), Lhotse (8511m) and many more.

Itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu transfer to hotel Preparation for trekking and overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) by flight 40 minute, breakfast in Lukla after breakfast trek to Phakding (2610m)
Day 3Trek Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)
Day 4Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar: rest, chilling, exploring and enjoying the view.
Day 5Trek Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3868m)
Day 6Trek Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m)
Day 7Acclimatization day at Dingboche.
Day 8Trek Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m)
Day 9Trek Lobuche to Gorakshep (5180m) to Everest Base Camp (5364m) and overnight in Gorakshep.
Day 10Early morning hike up to Kalapathar. (5550m) to see sunrise view and mountain range include Mt Everest. And back to Gorakshep breakfast and trek to Dzongla (4830m)
Day 11Trek Dzongla to Dragnag (4700m) via Chola Pass (5350m)
Day 12Trek Thagna to Gokyao (4790m)
Day 13Trek Gokyao Ri Machhermo. (4480m)
Day 14Trek Machhermo to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

What is the best time to trek Gokyo via Chola pass?
The best time for this trek is in autumn and spring. During Manson you cannot do it due to a slippery trial and winter is unbearable.
What happens if any one of us has a problem during the trip?
Our guide will take a rest for you to recover from taking medicine. In case of an emergency evacuation, there is a rescue team.
Who are my guides?
You’ll be guided by experienced trek leaders for many years. All our guides are local who communicate very in English and have a good knowledge of mountains, culture, people, health, hygiene, and your safety.
Is oxygen needed on the trek?
Since we have designed this trek in such a way that provides enough acclimatization, oxygen won’t be necessary. But in case of severe altitude sickness, we will descend to a lower altitude immediately. Diamox from the beginning is provided to prevent altitude sickness.
Are electricity and Wi-Fi available during the trek?
During the trek, electricity is available to charge your electric gadgets such as mobile phones, iPad, laptops from micro-hydropower and solar panels on a paying basis. As for Wi-Fi, someplace have access to the internet but needs to pay to use the internet.
