K2 Expedition Overview
Marvel trek is one of the renowned companies that has been famous for its treks and expeditions ever since its establishment in the year 1998. The Marvel trek team has organized about 377 treks alone to Mt.Everest with many more exciting treks and expeditions to other well-known mountains like Mt.Manaslu, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt.Makalu, and others as well. It also organizes expeditions in a few other countries like Bhutan, India, Tibet, and Pakistan.

Mt. K2, the second tallest mountain in the world, lies in the northern part of Pakistan on the border of Pakistan and China. It stands tall at 8,611m(8.611km). The first 6000m of Mt. K2 is full of steep rocks while the remaining portion is a huge snow sea. Out of many attempts to climb this mountain, only a few have succeeded. Every one in four people who reach the summit dies. This has earned the mountain the title of the most terrifying mountain among others. Due to all the unsuccessful attempts, this mountain is often referred to as the ‘savage mountain’, ‘the killer mountain’, etc. Even though Mt.Everest is taller, the hard and bitter weather of Mt.K2 has earned its the title of ‘Mountaineer’s mountain’ or the ‘King of the mountains’. Therefore, K2 Expedition is one of the thrilling climbing ventures.
Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Arriving at a hotel in Islamabad
Day 2: Flying to Skardu
Day 3-4: Briefing and preparation for the expedition in Skardu
Day 5: Driving to Askole, camp will be set
Day 7: Trekking to Paiyu, camp will be set
Day 8: Rest day
Day 9: Trekking to Urdukas, camp will be set
Day 10: Trekking to Goro II, camp will be set
11: Trekking to Board Peak Baseca
Day 12: Trekking to Mt.K2 base camp
Day 13-50: Climbing Mt.K2 and returning back to basecamp
Day 51: Packing and cleaning the basecamp
Day 52: Trekking back to Goro II, camp will be set
Day 53: Trekking to Khurbutze, camp will be set
Day 54: Trekking to Mundung, camp will be set
Day 55: Trekking back to Askole, camp will be set
Day 56: Driving back to Skardu
Day 57: Debriefing in the Ministry
Day 58: Flying back to Islamabad
Day 59: Returning back home
