Shishapangma Central Expedition is a subsidiary peak climbing of the Shishapangma mountain, measuring 8,008m ( 8.008km) in height. It falls in the southern part of Tibet within the Jugal Himal. There is a common belief related to the main Shishapangma. Due to heavy snowfall, the livestock of this area were all dead and the locals had to survive on meats and dregs. Thus the mountain was named ‘Shishapangma Central’, which means ‘dead animals’ meat and dregs of malt’ in the Tibetan language.

The name also represents the ‘tuft that lies above the meadows’ while translating into the Tibetan dialect. This mountain is called the ‘Gosainthan’ in Nepal and India, which means the ‘whereabouts of the saints’ in the Sanskrit language. This mountain has comparatively fewer challenges in its routes, making the expedition more approachable. Shishapangma Central Expedition has no or fewer technical climbing, making it easier to climb than other mountains measuring more than 8,000m.

However, the climbers have to go through a difficult route while moving to the central peak. This mountain is suitable for gathering the experience of the thin air at high altitudes. It acts as a stepping stone for climbing other difficult mountains. Also, the magnificent view seen from its summit is another treat to your eyes and heart. The climb to Shishapangma Central provides a heartwarming experience to its climbers.
