Tour Overview

Explore the heart of Kenya with Jossec Safaris on this unforgettable 7-day safari that blends scenic beauty, thrilling wildlife encounters, and the warm hospitality of Kenya’s most loved safari lodges — Sopa Lodges. This safari will take you to the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli, the tranquil shores of Lake Naivasha, the pink-hued waters of Lake Nakuru, and the iconic rolling plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries.

Travel in a custom 4x4 safari jeep equipped with a pop-up roof for optimal game viewing. Whether you're tracking the Big Five, sailing past hippos on Lake Naivasha, or walking alongside zebras on Crescent Island, this safari is designed to give you a deep and personal connection to the wild. It’s the perfect balance of adventure, comfort, and nature — crafted and led by the expert team at Jossec Safaris.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or the airport. You’ll be warmly welcomed by the Jossec Safaris team, who will provide a briefing before you depart in your 4x4 Land Cruiser. Drive south through the scenic countryside to Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for lunch at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in the park. Amboseli is renowned for its free-roaming elephants, often photographed with Mount Kilimanjaro as a stunning backdrop. You’ll also spot zebras, buffaloes, lions, and a vibrant variety of birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day in Amboseli

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive — this is the best time to catch predators before they retreat and enjoy crystal-clear views of Kilimanjaro. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and some downtime.

Later in the afternoon, embark on another exciting drive across Amboseli’s swamps, plains, and acacia woodlands. The area is rich in biodiversity, from giraffes and wildebeests to graceful gazelles. The park’s open terrain makes it one of the best places to watch wildlife in action.

Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, check out and drive through the Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake fringed by acacia trees and a haven for birds and hippos. Arrive at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort for lunch and some rest.

In the afternoon, take a serene boat ride on the lake, getting up close to hippos and spotting eagles, pelicans, and cormorants. Then visit Crescent Island, a private wildlife sanctuary where you can walk alongside giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, and impalas — no predators here, just pure safari bliss.

Accommodation: Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort

Day 4: Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos and endangered rhinos. You'll arrive at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, perched on a ridge with expansive views of the lake and surrounding forest.

In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive to see white and black rhinos, buffaloes, tree-climbing lions, and possibly leopards hidden in the acacia trees. The park is also a sanctuary for hundreds of bird species and has several scenic viewpoints.

Accommodation: Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge

Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, continue your journey west toward the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve. You'll travel through lush countryside and the Maasai homelands before arriving at Mara Sopa Lodge, located near the Oloolaimutia Gate of the reserve.

After lunch and a rest, head out for your first Mara game drive. Expect to encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, and vast herds of antelopes grazing on the plains. The Mara is home to all members of the Big Five and offers some of the most rewarding wildlife sightings in Africa.

Accommodation: Mara Sopa Lodge

Day 6: Full Day in Masai Mara

This day is dedicated to exploring the endless beauty and drama of the Masai Mara. Begin with an early morning game drive, return for breakfast, then continue with mid-morning and afternoon drives. You’ll track lions on the hunt, watch hippos splash in the Mara River, and possibly spot a cheetah sprinting after its prey.

If your visit coincides with the Great Wildebeest Migration (July to October), you may witness the breathtaking river crossings — a truly once-in-a-lifetime moment. You may also opt for a hot air balloon safari at sunrise (available at an additional cost of $450 per person), followed by a bush breakfast.

Day 7: Masai Mara to Nairobi

After breakfast, check out from the lodge and begin the journey back to Nairobi. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Rift Valley with stops along the way for photos and souvenirs. You’ll arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon, and the Jossec Safaris team will drop you off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your unforgettable safari.
