Tour to the oldest monastery in portugal
A few minutes from Coimbra, in the village of Lorvão, lies the oldest monastery in Portugal, and one of the oldest in Europe. Powerful religious house in Portugal, its origins are believed to date back to the 6th century. In fact, the monastery ceased to have religious orders in the 19th century and had other functions in the future. Today, part of it can be visited and includes a museum. Also nearby, there is an interesting craft shop dedicated to the village, a pastry shop with typical sweets, and another museum associated with the monastery.
