Private Lake Balaton Tour with winetasting or with Herend Porcelain Manufacture
Our journey begins with a comfortable drive from Budapest to Herend, approximately two hours away. Herend is world-famous for its handcrafted luxury porcelain, once used by European royal families. During our visit, you will learn how this precious porcelain is made — from shaping and painting to the delicate firing process. We also invite you to enjoy a coffee or tea served in authentic Herend porcelain, making the experience truly special.
From Herend, we continue towards Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe. Our first stop at the lake is Balatonfüred, an elegant spa town known for its historical charm. We stroll along the famous Tagore Promenade, visit the site of the prestigious Anna Ball, and see the Kossuth Fountain. In summer, there is also the opportunity to swim in the lake and enjoy its refreshing waters.
The program continues on the picturesque Tihany Peninsula, where we explore the surroundings of the historic Tihany Abbey and admire magnificent panoramic views over the lake. You will hear the story of the famous echo of Tihany and the legend of the “goat hooves,” while discovering the region’s lavender traditions. Optional lunch can be arranged here with a stunning view.
For a special experience, an optional ferry ride from Tihany to Szántód can be included. The tour may also be combined with a wine tasting experience, or the visit to Herend can be omitted — the program is fully customizable depending on your preferences, the season, and availability.
At the end of the day, guests are comfortably transferred back to their accommodation, apartment, boat pier, railway station, airport, or any pre-arranged location.
