8-hour Turpan historical day trip
This route mainly focuses on historical sites, including city ruins and buddhist caves ruins, all of which are representatives of the period when buddhism flourished in Turpan region.
Itinerary:
hotel-Flaming Mountain (30 minutes drive)-Flaming mountain canyon (10 minutes drive)-Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves (5 minutes drive)-dine in a local town (15 minutes drive) - Gaochang Ruins (10 minutes drive)-Tuyuk Village&Tuyuk; Grattoes (20 minutes drive)-Tuyuk Canyon (10 minutes drive)-hotel ( 50 minutes drive)
This route totally takes about 7-9 hrs, it's possible to skip places that you are not interested in, and you can decide how long to stay at each attraction. but for your reference I've listed the suggested time to spend at each attraction.
