6-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking Adventure via Marangu Route

After breakfast, depart Moshi and drive to Marangu Gate for registration and briefing. Begin your trek through the lush rainforest, home to colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and diverse birdlife. Enjoy a scenic walk under towering trees before arriving at Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (3,720m)

After breakfast, leave the rainforest and enter the moorland zone. Enjoy spectacular views of Mawenzi Peak and the surrounding landscapes. The trail gradually climbs through giant heather and unique alpine vegetation before reaching Horombo Hut.

Day 3: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut

Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude. Hike to Zebra Rocks and return to Horombo Hut for rest. This extra day significantly increases the chances of reaching the summit successfully.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (4,700m)

Continue through the alpine desert landscape toward Kibo Hut. The scenery becomes increasingly dramatic and barren as you approach the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks. Rest early and prepare for the midnight summit attempt.

Day 5: Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Horombo Hut

Around midnight, begin the challenging ascent to Gilman's Point and continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your achievement and enjoy spectacular sunrise views. After photos and celebration, descend to Kibo Hut for a short rest and continue to Horombo Hut for overnight.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

After breakfast, descend through moorland and rainforest back to Marangu Gate. Receive your summit certificate before transferring to Moshi or Arusha, marking the end of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
