Tour Code 28= 4 days/3 night tour in Addis Ababa, Lalibela, monastry of Asheton Mariam and Yimrehane kirstos
Geographically positioned in the north central highland part of Ethiopia on the eastern face of the rift valley region just at the centre of a broad canyon surrounded by chain of mountain escarpments. The town itself is perched on a vast plateau outflanked by river valleys and gorges
stretching as far many kilometers in distance. This
natural barries made Lalibela to be remained isolated for centuries. Lalibella is one among few wonders of the world and a must to see places on earth curved out of a single bed rocks standing for more than 900 years. It is still an active worshiping place where millions of pilgrimages are flooding in to it to attend on the feast of X-mas observed by Ethiopian Orthodox church in the 29th of December every year.
We are arranging short days trip to this magnificent place for those business people and transitors who have an ample time in Ethiopia/Addis Ababa.
ITINERARY
Day 1- Addis Abeba
Arrive Addis Ababa and take city tour to visit National museum of Ethiopia, Trinity Cathedral, Markato, the biggest open air market in Africa, mount Entoto and more. O/n hotel
Day 2- Addis Ababa-Lalibella
Take breakfast then fly to Lalibela, a small town but with UNSCO world heritage site due to its marvelous rock hewn churches chiseled-out in the most part of 13th C AD. On arrival, visit the first group of churches such as:- Bête Medhanialem/house of savor of the world; Bête Mariam/house of St. Mary; Bête Meskel/house of the cross; Bête Denagil/house of the virgin myrtyers, Bête Golgota-Micheal/house of St. Micheal and Bête Georgis/house of St. George. Back to your hotel for lunch then in the afternoon more visit of the 2nd group of churches which are 5 in numbers. These are:- Bête Gebriel-Ruphael/house of St. Gabriel and Raphael ; Bête Amanuel/house of Emanuel; Bête Merkoriwos/house of St. Merqoriew and Bête Aba Libanos/house of father Libanos. O/n hotel
Day 3- Lalibela
The whole day in Lalibela. After breakfast, depart for Mule trekking to Asheton Mariam monastry, semi -monolithic church spoted on a 3000 meters mountain ledge accessed by both walking and Mule riding.
In the afternoon, drive west to Yimrehane Kiristos monastery located 42 kilometers. It is a built up cave church with ancient Aksumite arctecture standing inside a large cave built from red tuff rocks bricks attached with whitewash pilasters and is supported by wooden beams. O/n hotel
Day 4- Checkout your hotel and transfer to airport for the flight to Addis Ababa. Balance of the more visit of the capital and do other personal activities. Finally, enjoy coffee at Tomoca coffee house, drop you at your hotel or Bole int'l airport for your fligh home.
