Learn the secrets of Cretan cuisine by picking and preparing your own dishes!
The Cretan diet has given us the most valuable gifts of health and longevity, and this day is dedicated to the Gastronomical heritage of Crete.
The participants will have the opportunity to see and take part in the preparation and cooking of Cretan traditional dishes.
You will be transferred from your hotel to our Bostani (our vegetable garden) where on arrival you can enjoy either a fresh fruit juice or herbal tea of your choice.
Next is the presentation of our program, where you will get to know our organic Bostani and begin collecting fresh vegetables and herbs that will later be used in the preparation of our traditional Cretan dishes!
Here we put on our aprons and hats (provided by office escort) and proceed with our Cretan chef to the cooking and preparation area.
We gather around a large table as our chef shows and explain to us the daily menu. He then divides us up into smaller parties, teaching us in smaller number the secrets of Cretan cuisine.
Once the preparation is finished we put our food in the wood cut oven for baking.
Our day of experiencing Cretan Gastronomy continues through the oldest olive grove on Crete, passing through small villages until we arrive at Kapsaliana, with tasting Tsikoudia and visiting the restored historical oil press of Arcadi Monastery.
On our return to Bostani, we will find our “creations” or “Lunch” waiting to be enjoyed by us and accompanied by good Cretan wine. A coffee is in order before we head back for our hotel.
