Bitola walking tour
Our 3 hours tour will start 3km from today’s centar, at archeological site Heraclea Lyncestis. Roman public bath, Great Basilica, Ancient Theater with unreal acoustic are just few of the things that you will see. Later we continue to today’s City museum. Located in the building from 1848, Bitola’s museum can be proud of its collection and thousands of exhibits with enormous cultural and historical meaning.
Our walking tour continues through Shirok Sokak ,our version of Parisian Champs Elysees.. Before we enter in to the Old Bazaar we will see very unique architecture, Clock Tower (symbol of Bitola), The Catholic Church “Sacred Heart of Jesus”, St. Dimitrij church, The Ishak Çelebi Mosque, House of culture….
Now it is time for THE OLD BAZAAR - During the 19th century, Bitola was at its peak, being the second largest city in the European part of the Ottoman Empire (after Thessaloniki), very important trading center with over 2000 stores, most of them situated in the Old Bazaar.
