- The tour guide will pick you up from your hotel to enjoy an excursion to ALEXANDRIA, the second capital of and the capital of Egypt during the Greco-Roman period for 1000 years. Your tour will start by visiting the Catacombs. It is the only catacombs of Egypt and it resembles the catacombs of Rome. It was built by end of the first century A.D.
- Then proceed to visit the Pompey Pillar dedicated to Emperor Diocletian in 297 A.D
- Move to visit the new Library of Alexandria and the Citadel of Qaitbay built on the Island of Pharos where the famous lighthouse was existing. The fort constructed by used the lime stone of the lighthouse after being destroyed due to strong earthquakes.
