Essential Myanmar Tours (9/Day)

Yangon – Bagan – Mandalay – Inle Lake – Yangon (9-Days)

Day 1: Yangon Arrival

You will be welcome at the airport and transferred to hotel. Relax at the hotel.

If time permits we will do the Yangon city Tour.

-India Town and China Town

-Botahtaung Pagoda

-Walk on the Inya Lake

-Scot Market

Overnight at Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon City Tour

After the breakfast we will do the soft walking around Yangon colonial buildings; Sule Pagoda, City Hall, High court, Telegraph office, Banks streets, Strand Hotel and General post office, etc.

Continue to Armenian Church, one of the oldest survival churches in Yangon.

-Chauk Htet Gyi Reclining Buddha Images.

-Lunch break at Good and Clean Restaurant

-Take a local circular Train for 45 Minutes and visit local Bazaar

-Majestic Shwedagon Pagoda in the evening.

Day 3: Yangon – Bagan by Flight in the morning.

Bagan cultural Tour.

Explore around Bagan, a plain area where is covered with over two thousand pagodas, temples and stupas. We will see all highlights of Bagan sights.

-Stroll around busy colorful Nyaung U Market.

-Pagoda Shwezigon, Temple Ananda built in 1091 is considered the masterpiece of Bagan's surviving Mon architecture.

-Damanrangyi and Thatbanyu Temple are superlative among 3000 stupas and temples.

-Hilominlo Temple, Ma-Nu-Har Pagoda and Gubraukgyi are full with mural paintings. Then we will pay a visit to a small Myinkabar village to see the thriving lacquer ware industry.

Overnight at Bagan.

Day 4: Bagan Ballooning and Mt. Popa

-Takeing Baloon in the Morning.

-Then We will drive to Mt.Popa to learn Myanmar Nat (spirit) cultural.

-On the way we will stop at local farmer house to see their works and lifestyle.

-Walk up to Mt. Popa along the 777 steps covered stairway to get the summit and enjoy the Panoramic view of Bagan central plain.

Lunch at Mt. Popa resort. Back Bagan in afternoon.

-Rest at the Hotel for a while. Sunset boat on River Ayeyarwadi. Overnight at Bagan.

Day 5: Bagan to Mandalay by car

Mandalay City Tour

-It will take around 4 hours drive to get to Mandalay (182 km).

-In the afternoon we will visit Mandalay palace. It was built in 1857 by king Mindon, the last king of Yadanabon Kingdom. Then we will continue to Golden palace monastery covered by gold leave and wood carving and walk inside Kuthodaw pagoda (the world biggest book) acknowledged by UNESCO as a memory of the World.

-Drive to the top of Mandalay hill, 975feet above sea level and enjoy the sunset, fresh air and panoramic view of Mandalay City. Overnight at Mandalay.

Day 6: Mandalay three ancient cities

Ava – Amarapura and Sagaing.

We will first go to Mahamuni Buddha image casted in Buddha time (Bc623). The temple was built in 1784 by King Bodawphaya. It burnt down in 1884 but king Thibaw (the last king of Myanmar) renovated with Myanmar and Italian architecture. There are bronze figures from Ankarwot Temple from Cambodia.

-Mahagandaryone Monastery where over one thousand monks and novices are studying Buddhism

-Explore the another ancient city, Sagaing near the Mandalay such as -Sagaing Hill on the bank of River Ayeyarwadi. You enjoy the panoramic view of Sagaing city and Mandalay. U Min Thone Se Pagoda and Sone Oo Pone Nya Shin Stupa on the range of Sagaing Hill is worth exploring.

-Visit Ava city by horse Cart. We will take a local ferry on the small river and explore around Ava, Maynu Oak Kyaung, Bargayar teak old monastery, and Yadana Simi ruined stupas complex and leaning Tower.

-Sunset at U Bein Bridge (the World Longest Teak Bridge) With 1086 Teak Pillars That Are 1. 2km Long And Over 160 Years Old. Overnight at Mandalay.

Day 7: Mandalay to Inle Lake by flight in the Morning.

-Transfer to Airport to catch the flight to Inle Lake.

We will see our driver at the airport and drive to Inle lake the Boat Jetty and to the hotel by boat.

-Start sightseeing by boat on the beautiful lake which is a home to Inthar national race, Many of who live in the stilted houses built on water.

-You will see many local people family workshops and their living style such as five-day Floating Market, silk & lotus stem weaving, Black smith and Cheroot family workshop.

-Visit floating villages and gardens. Then we will also study the Inthar technique leg-rowing style that means one leg wrapped around the paddle to row the boat.

-Continue to famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the lake main sanctuary in which contain five sacred Buddha Images and the Cat Jumping monastery, one of the oldest monasteries on the lake to see many ancient Buddha Images on beautiful thrones. Overnight at Inle lake

Day 8: Inle Lake to Heho by Car and Fly back Yangon in the evening.

-Visit Indein, that is located on the western part of the Lake. It will take 45 minutes drive by boat along a small cannel through the floating villages. It is said that Indein Pagoda was built in 3rd Century by a King ArThawka. There are many Paoo people and villages, sub ethnic group of Shan people who live around Indein. They are now renovating old pagodas. Lunch at local restaurant on the lake.

-Back at Nyaung Shwe City to drive to the airport for flight to Yangon in the evening.

Overnight at Yangon.

Day 9: Yangon Departure

Relax at the Hotel and Transfer to the airport at two hours ahead of the flight time. It is time to say ‘Good Bye’ to the Beautiful land, Myanmar.
