Visit UNESCO'S Sight Su Nuraxi (Barumini)
When you visit Sardinia one of the must-do things is a trip to the nuragical fortress of Barumini. Over 7,000 stone towers called nuraghi dot Sardinia's landscape, you won't find them enywhere else on Earth; "Su Nuraxi" in Barumini is the biggest and most important one and therefore it has been declared by UNESCO World Heritage Site. In walking distance from the site is "casa Zapata", a palais built in the 16th century residence of the noble Zapata family exactly on top of a nuraghe. The palais hosts a little museum and nearby is the ethnographic museum and the church Immacolata.
Ein absolutes Muss für jeden Reisenden der nach Sardinien kommt ist die Besichtigung des Nuraghen-komplexes von Barumini. Auf der Insel gibt es noch ca. 7.000 nuraghische bauten: "Su Nuraxi" in Barumini ist die groesste und wichtigste und wurde deshalb von der UNESCO zum Welkulturerbe ernannt. Diese megalitischen Türme, die es nur auf Sardinien gibt, sind die Hauptdarsteller der sardischen Bronzezeit und prägen noch immer die Landschaft der Insel. Nach einem kurzen Spaziergang durch die kleine Ortschaft Barumini, Besichtigung des im XVI Jahrhundert auf einer Nuraghe errichten Zapata Palastes und des kleinen archaeologischen Museums, des Entographischen Museums und der Kirche Immacolata.
