Incredible Kyrgyzstan Grand Tour - 16 Days.

Announcement: Kyrgyzstan is very diverse country in every way. Here you can see many different nations, cultures, also landscapes and even the climatic zones – from very hot like desert till frozen arctic. The Tien Shan mountain system in Central Asia covers the territory of 5 countries. Most of it lies on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Our rout is like a stretched circle – through Chuy region, around Issik-Kul lake, loops in Naryn and Osh regions. Yoг will meet original nomadic culture in the North of Kyrgyzstan and mixed nomadic-farmer culture in the South of Kyrgyzstan.

The tour program includes

Day1 – Bishkek, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Kegeti, Kegeti, Kyrgyzstan

Starting from Bishkek to Issyk-Ata gorges (60 km). Hiking and short excursion to Buddha stone (10 century a.c.). Bath at will in hydrogen sulfide hotsprings. Drive to Kegety gorge (30 km) and hiking to Kol-Tor lake. Overnight in guesthouse or yurt.

Day2 – Kegeti, Kegeti, Kyrgyzstan to Chon-Kemin, Kyrgyzstan

Departure to Chong-Kemin National Park (90 km). By the way we will visit Burana tower museum (10-11 century a.c.). Horse riding in Chong-Kemin to Kol-Kogur lake. Overnight in guesthouse.

Day3 – Chong-Kemin National Park, Kyrgyzstan to Cholpon Ata, Cholpon Ata, Kyrgyzstan

Drive to Konorchek Canyon (50 km) which looks like a little version of Grand Canyon in USA. Short hiking there for 2-3 hours. Departure to Cholpon-Ata city (130 km), lunch and petroglyph open-air museum and History museum at will. Overnight in guesthouse or yurtcamp on the Issik-Kul lake shore

Day4 – Kyrchyn Zhailoo ethnic village, Kyrgyzstan to Altyn-Arashan, Kyrgyzstan

Drive to Georgievskiy gorge (30 km). Hiking to lakes. There 3 beautiful lakes, 2 lakes open for visit, but for 3d lake you should get border permit. Offroad drive to the Kyrchyn gorge, where was World Nomad Games. Drive to Altyn-Arashan gorge (150 km). By the way short cultural and food program in Karakol city. Hotsprings and overnigth in yurt.

Day5 - Altyn-Arashan, Kyrgyzstan to Ala-Kul, Kyrgyzstan

Ala-Kul lake trekking through most beautiful places of Altyn-Arashan gorge. Horse riding till Ala-Kul pass, than climbing to lake. Comeback and hotsprings again :). Overnigth in yur

Day6 – Altyn-Arashan, Kyrgyzstan to Jety – Oguz, Kyrgyzstan

Departure Jety-Oguz gorge (110 km), most scenic and beautiful gorge in Kyrgyzstan. Drive and hiking around resort and red rocks there. Hiking to waterfall. Overnight in yurt.

Day7 – Jety – Oguz, Kyrgyzstan to Jety – Oguz, Kyrgyzstan

Hiking to Oguz-Bashy glacier, looks like an unreal magic mountain. There we can see Eltcin and Karakol peaks. Comeback and overnight in yurt.

Day8 – Jety – Oguz, Kyrgyzstan to Ak Shyyrak, Ak Shyyrak, Kyrgyzstan.

Departure to the Ak-Shiyrak village and Kara-Say pasture (250 km). This day we will drive to the most unexplored place in Kyrgyzstan and Tien-Shan mountains. Ak-shiyrak village located at an altitude of 3000 meters, near with China border, beneath Kakshal-Too ridge. This ridge have summits near 6000 m. We will drive through Barskoon gorge and pass to Ara-Bel plateau, 3800 m. (a.s.l.) with high mountain lakes and pastures. Than after Sook pass we will see Dankov (5982 m.) and Kyzyl-Asker (5842 m.) peaks. Overnight in yurt

Day9 – Ak Shyyrak, Ak Shyyrak, Kyrgyzstan to Fairytale canyon «Skazka», Kyrgyzstan

Return to the Barskoon gorge and excursion to the waterfalls. Trip and excursion to Fairy Tale Canyon (80 km). Overnight in the yurt camp on the shore of the Issik-Kul lake.

Ak Shyyrak, Ak Shyyrak, Kyrgyzstan to Fairytale canyon "Skazka", Kyrgyzstan

Return to the Barskoon gorge and excursion to the waterfalls. Trip and excursion to Fairy Tale Canyon (80 km). Overnight in the yurt camp on the shore of the Issik-Kul lake.

Day10– Kaji-Say, Kaji-Say, Kyrgyzstan to Naryn, Naryn, Kyrgyzstan

Drive to Naryn region (220 km). It is a most difficult, but very wild beauty part of road. We will drive through Tosor pass and along up tributary of Naryn river. Naryn river – one of the general river in Tyan-Shan that gives rise to a Syrdarya river. Short stop in Eki-Naryn valley. So, you can see the inception of this great rivers. National kyrgyz food dinner in restaurant and overnight in yurt or guesthouse in Naryn city

Day11 – Naryn, Naryn, Kyrgyzstan to Kel Suu lake, Naryn, Kyrgyzstan

Drive to Kel-Suu lake (150 km). Hiking there and swimming at will. Overnight in yurt.

Day12 – Kel Suu lake, Naryn, Kyrgyzstan to Tash-Rabat, Kyrgyzstan

Drive to Chatyr-Kul lake (150 km), then Tash-Rabat history complex. This caravan-saray (15 century a.c.) was one of the pitstop on Silk Way Between China and Europe. Located at an altitude of 3,200 meters. By your will, you can make a horsetrek from Chatyr-Kul lake to Tash-Rabat through the pass and valley. Overnight in yurt.

Day13 – Tash-Rabat, Kyrgyzstan to Song Kol Lake, Kyrgyzstan

Driving to the Song-Kul lake (160 km) through the Terskey-Torpok pass, also called like 38 parrot, because it is steep and have serpentine with 38 turns. Short stop to waterfall before pass. Hiking and boating in Song-Kul. National kyrgyz food dinner. Overnight in yurt

Day14 – Song Kol Lake, Kyrgyzstan to Kazarman, Kazarman, Kyrgyzstan

Departure to the Kazarman village (200 km) through Moldo-Ashuu pass. Visiting Saimaluu-Tash petroglyphs open-air museum and park. Overnight in guesthouse.

Day15 – Kazarman, Kazarman, Kyrgyzstan to Osh, Osh, Kyrgyzstan

Departure to the Osh city (260 km) through the hard and dangerous mountain road with scenic pass. By the way short stop in ancient Uzgen city to see the Karakhanid Empire Mausoleum and Minaret 44 m. High (12 century a.c.) and several ruins of a fortress. Uzgen is uzbek city, there are more than 90% of uzbek population. Although all south of Kyrgyzstan have much uzbek population and under great influence of uzbek culture. National uzbek food dinner and short evening citytour in Osh. Overnight in guesthouse

Temperatures: please note that there can be large variations in temperatures. In the daytime, it can be very hot and a thin layer of clothing will be comfortable but long sleeves protect you from the sun’s rays. At night, it can be cold so a layered approach is best. Predicting temperatures is very hard but they could range between 5°C and + 25°C. Rainfall in the Kyrgyzstan at this time of year is not expected but dust storms are. Please take a waterproof layer just in case.
