Chitwan Safari Day Tour

Itinerary:
Morning (6:00 AM - 11:00 AM): Canoe & Jungle Walk
Your day starts with a quiet canoe ride on the Rapti River. As the morning mist goes away, you will see gharials and marsh mugger crocodiles. They sit on the river banks. Your guide will show you kingfishers, egrets, and other water birds. You will see many kinds of birds on this calm ride. It is a peaceful way to start the day.
After the canoe trip, you will start a guided jungle walk. This is a truly close way to connect with nature. Your guides are trained experts. They will teach you how to find animal tracks. They will also help you learn about different kinds of plants. You will hear jungle sounds. You will smell the fresh air. It is a walk that makes you feel part of the wild world. The guides also point out signs of animals, like paw prints or broken branches.
Mid-day (12:00 PM - 5:00 PM): The Jeep Safari
After eating lunch, it is time for the main event. The Jeep safari takes you much deeper into the park. This is farther than you can go by walking. You will drive through thick sal forests. You will also cross wide open grassy areas. This is your best chance to see rhinos eating grass. You might spot groups of deer. Monkeys will be jumping through the trees. Keep your eyes open. Your guide will watch very closely for any signs of a tiger. They know where to look. They know what to listen for. The ride can be bumpy and fun.
Evening (6:00 PM onwards): Tharu Culture & Dinner
As the sun sets, you will go back to your hotel. The evening is set aside for learning about the local ways. A Tharu cultural show features old stick dances. These are called the Danda Nach. Songs tell stories of their lives and how they live with the land. The music is lively. The dancers are skilled. It is a fun way to end your busy day. Afterward, enjoy a tasty dinner. You might try some local Tharu food. This could include ghonghi, which are snails from mud. Or you might try taas, which is spicy cooked goat meat. These foods are special to the Tharu people.
