Langtang Valley trek

Starting Point: Syabrubesi

The trek usually begins with a bus or jeep ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the trek. Syabrubesi is a small village located in the Langtang region.

Trekking Route:

Lama Hotel: The trail passes through dense forests of rhododendron, bamboo, and pine trees, with occasional glimpses of the Langtang River. Lama Hotel is a common resting place on the first day of the trek.

Langtang Village: The trail continues through picturesque landscapes and traditional Tamang villages. Langtang Village is the largest settlement in the area and was significantly affected by the earthquake in 2015.

Kyanjin Gompa: The trek leads to Kyanjin Gompa, where trekkers can explore the ancient Buddhist monastery, enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, and even climb Kenjin-Ri for a more stunning panorama.

Langtang National Park:

The entire trek is within the Langtang National Park, offering opportunities to witness diverse wildlife, including Himalayan thar, red panda, langur monkeys, and various bird species.

Spectacular views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, and other peaks.

Difficulty:

The Langtang Valley trek is considered moderately difficult, making it suitable for trekkers with a moderate level of fitness.

Best Time to Trek:

The best time to undertake the Langtang Valley trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the weather is clear and the temperatures are mild.

Permits:

Trekkers need permits to enter the Langtang National Park, which can be obtained in Kathmandu.

Tea Houses and Accommodation:

Accommodation along the trail is in tea houses, providing basic amenities. These teahouses also serve as places to rest and enjoy local meals
