The Big Almaty Lake or BAO for short was formed after an earthquake, in a natural pit that filled with water. Its depth is up to 40 m, maximum length and width is 1.6 by 1 km. The height above sea level is 2511 m. BAO is one of the main sources of drinking water in Almaty (it is the one that flows through the pipe), so neither swimming nor fishing is allowed there.
The price of the tour includes a taxi to the starting point, an entrance fee and a wonderful guide with all the necessary medicines in case of force majeure.
