Guimaraes - the cradle city of Portugal
Guimarães is a city in northern Portugal with 160,000 inhabitants located in the Braga district, in the North region. The picturesque historic center of Guimaraes has been included in the list of UNESCO heritage sites and in 2012 the city was elected European Capital of Culture. The surrounding green mountain landscape is also very beautiful, where there are further ancient villages and interesting towns.
