3 days desert tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fez - Ifran - Medilt - Merzouga

Your journey will begin by picking you up from your accommodation in Fez at 8:00. The ride will take you through the fascination of the Middle Atlas, passing by Ifrane, a winter ski resort in an un-Moroccan style built by the French and resemble a Swiss village. Then you will stop at the cedars forest in Azrou to enjoy nature and feed the monkeys.

Most of the day will be spent winding your way through the beautiful forests, springs, jagged rock faces, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and descend toward the Sahara Desert. Halfway, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks; then, we will continue towards Merzouga on the road. We will stop in panoramic views to see the vast Palm Trees oasis.

We reach Merzouga in the afternoon, Depending on your arrival, to the traditional Kasbah on the foot of the dunes of erg-Chebbi. After rest and a mint tea, the guide and camels will be waiting to carry you across the sandy dunes of the erg-Chebbi, you will enjoy the beauty of the sunset on camel, and after 1 hour, you will reach the desert camp to spend the night in a Berber tent.

The night will be delightful when you have time to unpack and have dinner while you enjoy the campfire and listen to Traditional Music.

Day 2: Merzouga - Rissani - Dades or Ouarzazate

The second day will start. After a Delicious Breakfast, You will depart from Merzouga towards the day destination Ouarzazate, traveling the rugged Road of a Thousand Kasbahs that rise like turreted sand castles along this ancient caravan trading route.

This area has long been a popular location for Hollywood films such as The Last Temptation of Christ, Jewel of the Nile, and, most recently, Hideous Kinky. The central region is one of Morocco’s most exciting and romantic destinations, nestled along rich river valleys, palmer and burnished mud-brick homes ablaze in vibrant color under the shelter of the blue desert sky.

We stop for lunch, walk in Todra Gorge, and travel through the Dadès Valley past dramatic escarpments; we reach our destination for today in the afternoon, have Dinner, and overnight.

Day 3: Ouarzazate - Ait ben Haddou - Marrakech

On the last day of the journey, after breakfast, visit the town of Ouarzazate and its monuments, including the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios movie studios, the largest and most famous in all of Africa.

From here, we head to the Fint Oasis, near Ouarzazate. We check in at Ait Ben Haddou to have lunch. Then visit the famous Kasbah, declared a UNESCO World Heritage and which was the scene of films like The Gladiator, Babel, and Lawrence of Arabia; we continue passing through the High Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, along a road that climbs from the plains up to 2260 m above sea level passing through small villages, small waterfalls, through the continuously changing landscape and colors of these beautiful Mountains. We reach Marrakech in the afternoon for the end of the trip.
