Trekking of M'goun

Day 01: Marrakech – the valley of Ait Bouguemez ( 1750m) – Start of the hike – Night in tents at Ikkis N'Arous ( 2300m)

Early morning transfer from Marrakech to the small town of Azilal ( the mountain gate). Then the continuation towards the Col de Tizi N'oughbar before arriving in the happy valley of Aît Bougmez. Meeting with our team of mule drivers. Lunch then we go up the small valley of Arous direction to the sheepfolds of IKKIS n'Arous. Duration: 5 hours walk. 2.5 hours walk. Difference in altitude: 500m climb. Night under tents.

Day 02: Ikkis N'Arous 2250 m – Col de Tarkedit (3400m) – Tarkedit (2900m)

We climb up to the pass Tarkedit at 3400m altitude, a few stops before the pass where the view is magical on the chain of Mgoun and the summit of Mgoun 4068 m. A descent of one hour towards the plateau of Tarkedit; a vast plateau frequented by nomads. The duration: 5H30 of walk Difference in altitude: 1050m up and 500m down. Night under tents.

Day 03: Tarkadit – Ascension of M'Goun (4071m) – Sources Oulilimt (2600m)

A long step of walking H. We go up towards the ridge, from where the views are panoramic until the summit of M’goun; the roof of the high central atlas , where the view is splendid on all the Massif du M’Goun and its distant valleys (valley of the Drâa and Dadès ...), then a long descent with beautiful scenery to reach our camp. The duration: 9h of walk. Difference in altitude: 1170m climbed and negative 1470m. Night under tents.

Day 04: Oulilimt Springs (2600m) – Col des Ait Imi (2905 m) – The Ait Imi Source ( 2100m)

Meet nomads in family with their herds. We climb towards the pass Ait Imi (2905 m), panoramic view from the pass on all surrounding mountains and behind view of the Mgoun. A long descent into the Ait Bougmez valley. Half-meal of juniper amber. After an hour of walking we arrive at our camp near the source Ait Imi. Duration: 5h30 walk. Night in tents.

Day 05: Ait Imi – The mountain of Adazen ( 2400m)– the descent of the valley Ait Bougmez – Timit ( 1750m)

A quiet day to see the natural heritage, architectural and cultural wealth of the happy valley of Aït Bougmez. We start our day by visiting the dinosaur tracks in the heart of Ibaklioun village. Then, an hour climb to Adazen ridge by juniper forest. Then the descent by a small path to the village Ait Ouangdal. We are going through...
