Ouazzane
Ouazzane is a historic city located in the north of Morocco, at the foot of the Rif Mountains. It is best known as a spiritual and religious center, often referred to as "La Ville Sainte" (The Holy City) due to its deep Sufi heritage and the presence of important Islamic scholars and saints, particularly Moulay Abdallah Cherif, founder of the city in the 18th century. Ouazzane is an important destination for religious pilgrims, especially during moussem celebrations. The city also has a rich Amazigh and Arab cultural blend, with traditional crafts, olive cultivation, and textile production playing a significant role in its local economy. Surrounded by lush green hills and olive groves, Ouazzane remains a peaceful city that holds great spiritual and cultural significance in Moroccan history.
