Fes: Half-Day City Tour
Fez, the most beautiful medina in Morocco
Since its founding, Fez has always won the hearts of scholars – philosophers, mathematicians, lawyers, astronomers, theologians… In this city rich in exotic goods, artisans built hydraulic systems and palaces, while sultans and nobles offered it mosques and schools . Still visible, these deep cultural roots are honored and perpetuated by the Fassis, and the city derives a beautiful confidence from them.
Most visitors spend most of their time in the medina , which forms the largest car-free urban area in the world. Except for the outskirts, where a few mopeds roar by, the old town can only be crossed on foot (or by donkey). It is punctuated by courtyard houses, more or less dilapidated, some of which house artisan workshops .
In fact, Fez offers excellent courses and tours on the theme of craftsmanship.
These are all opportunities to meet masters who continue to pass on centuries-old expertise.
