Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400m)

You will be met at Tribhuvan Airport. A car will take you to your hotel. Use this day to rest. You can also walk around the busy streets of Thamel. Thamel is a lively area with shops, cafes, and many other travelers. It is a good place to feel the pulse of Nepal. Take it easy to help your body get over the long flight. Drink plenty of water.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sights & Get Ready

See old places like Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple) and Boudhanath Stupa. These are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Swayambhunath sits on a hill and offers great views of the city. Boudhanath is a huge white dome, a center for Buddhist life. In the afternoon, you will have a short talk about the trip. This is a time to meet your guide and other climbers. You will also check your gear for the climb. Your guide will make sure you have all the right items. They will answer any questions you have.

Day 3: Drive to Dharapani (1,860m)

You start early with a nice drive from Kathmandu. You follow the Trishuli River. The road is smooth at first. You will see green hills and small towns. The journey then turns into a rough dirt track as you enter the Manang area. This part of the drive can be bumpy but offers great views. You end the day in Dharapani. This village marks the start of your walk. You will stay in a local guesthouse.

Day 4: Walk to Chame (2,610m)

Your walk truly begins! You go through pine and fir trees. The air gets cooler and fresher. You will see great views of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II. These tall peaks start to show themselves. Chame is the main town of Manang. It has a hot spring where you can relax your feet. The path today is mostly uphill but not too steep. You will walk for about 5-6 hours.

Day 5: Walk to Upper Pisang (3,300m)

The path goes through a steep, tight valley. You will see amazing views of the Paungda Danda rock wall. This is a huge, curved rock face. You cross a hanging bridge high above a river. Then you go up to the nice village of Upper Pisang. This village is older and more traditional than Lower Pisang. Here, you get your first clear view of Pisang Peak. It looks grand and inviting. The walk today takes about 5-6 hours.

Day 6: Rest Day in Upper Pisang for Height

This day is key to getting used to the height. You will take a short walk to a higher spot. This might be a viewpoint or a small hill. Then you come back down to sleep in Upper Pisang. This follows the rule: "climb high, sleep low." It helps your body make more red blood cells. This makes you stronger for higher places. You will also visit the local temple. It is a peaceful place with old art and views. You can also walk around the village and talk to local people.

Day 7: Walk to Pisang Peak Base Camp (4,380m)

You leave the main Annapurna walk path. You go up a steep trail through thin woods and fields. The trees become smaller and fewer as you gain height. The path is rougher now. You reach the Base Camp. Your tents will be set up here. This is where the real climbing part of the trip begins. Your team will have hot drinks and food ready. The air is much colder here. The views of the mountains are closer and more grand.

Day 8: Walk to High Camp (5,400m)

A hard, steep climb takes you to High Camp. The ground is rocky and rough. You will walk over loose stones and maybe some snow. This day is shorter in distance but hard because of the steepness and height. From here, the top views are very close. You can see the path to the summit. You will eat dinner early and rest for the climb to the top. Your guide will give a last talk about the summit push. They will check your gear one more time.

Day 9: Top Day (6,091m) & Back to Base Camp

This is the day you have waited for! You start very early (around 1-2 AM). It will be dark and cold. You use headlamps to see. The climb follows a clear path along a ridge. This ridge can be windy. It leads to an ice field. You will use ropes to cross it. Your guide will fix the ropes for safety. The last part to the top is steep but very good. It is a slow, steady climb. After enjoying the wide views, you go back down to Base Camp. The views from the top are amazing. You will see a sea of peaks under the morning sun. The descent is often harder on the legs than the climb up.

Day 10: Extra Day

This is an extra day in the plan. It is for bad weather or other things that happen that you did not expect. For example, if someone needs more time to get used to the height, or if snow makes the path unsafe. This day makes the trip safer and more likely to succeed. If you do not use it, you can use it later on the walk. This might mean a shorter day of walking or more time in a nice village.

Day 11: Walk to Manang (3,540m)

You join the Annapurna walk path again. You walk to the pretty village of Manang. This is a larger village with shops and bakeries. The land becomes drier and more like Tibet. You will see more prayer flags and stupas. It is a welcome change after the cold of the high camps. You can enjoy a warm meal and a good rest in a guesthouse.

Day 12: Walk to Yak Kharka (4,050m)

This is a shorter day of walking. It helps you get used to the height as you keep going up toward the Thorong La Pass. The path is steady uphill. You will see yaks grazing in the fields. The views of the mountains stay with you. This day is important for getting ready for the big pass.

Day 13: Walk to Thorong Phedi (4,450m)

This is the last stop before the pass. Thorong Phedi is a small place with a few guesthouses. You take it easy and rest for the big day tomorrow. It is important to eat well and drink plenty of water. The air is quite thin here. Many climbers gather here, sharing stories and getting ready for the early start.

Day 14: Cross Thorong La Pass (5,416m) & Walk to Muktinath (3,800m)

You start early for a long, hard day. The climb to the pass is tiring. It is a steady uphill walk in the cold morning. But the views from the top are like nothing else. You will see a vast spread of mountains. Prayer flags wave in the wind. You then go down steeply to the holy place of Muktinath. The descent is long and can be hard on the knees. Muktinath is a special place for both Hindus and Buddhists. You will see temples and natural gas flames.

Day 15: Drive to Pokhara via Jomsom

From Muktinath, you take a nice jeep ride through the Kali Gandaki Gorge. This is the world's deepest gorge. The drive is exciting, with views of the river far below. You go to Jomsom, a larger town. Then you keep driving to the pretty lake city of Pokhara. Pokhara is a calm place with a big lake and views of the Annapurna range. You can relax here after your big climb. Your Pisang Peak trip ends here!
