Brief on :
Different seasons ,different styles. Mount Emei (also known as "E Mei Shan") is located in the southwestern part of the basin of Sichuan province.It is 7 kilometers away from Emeishan city, and the city of Emeishan is 156 kilometers from Chengdu, 34 kilometers from Leshan city.
Apart from the imperssive view of mountain ,it now even has a ski-court during winter season.
The Mt. Emei is composed of four mountains.The peak of Emeishan is 3099 meters over the sea level but the plain on the foot of the mountain is on about 400 meters, it is of a much greater relative relief than other famous mountains in China.Mount Emei is full of natural and cultural heritages. It has the reputation of 'Vegetable Kingdom', 'Animal Paradise' and 'Geological Museum'. It is also one of the most important mountains for Buddhism, with a believing of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Over 300 Buddhist monks and nuns are living there and about 30 temples do exist.
Highlights:
1.Golden Buddha
The four-side ten-direction golden statue of Puxian on the Golden Summit of the Mt. Emei is the highest golden Buddha in the world and also the first artistic design of ten-direction statue of Puxian. The golden Buddha is a Buddhist statue built by employing the craftwork of copper casting and gold-plating. It has a total height of 48 meters and a total weight of 660 tons.
2.Elephant Watching Pool
The Elephant Watching Pool has a height of 2070 meters above sea level. It has misty white clouds and ancient tall tress arounThe "Night Moon over the Elephant Pool" is the famous sight here
3.Gold Summit
The number of the Buddhist temples dotting the mountain is quite inspiring but the views from the Golden Summit at an elevation of 3,077 meters above sea level steals the glory. The Gold Summit is an extravagance of natural wonders and Buddhism spiritualism, which comprise of four marvelous spectacles of Sunrise, Cloud Sea, Buddhist Light and sacred lamp.
Transportation:
Convenient ,you can just take the shuttle-bus or taxi to get here once arrived in the area(Around 1 hour trough highspeed train from chengdu city to the area.)And internal traffic of the mountain are mainly connected with highways and buses,which you can get on and off at any spot effortlessly.
