EBC Trek via Gokyo Cho La Pass - 17 Days
Day to Day Itinarary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a private vehicle will transfer you to your hotel in Thamel. You may visit the trekking office for a pre-trip briefing to learn more about the Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Cho La Pass.
Accommodation: 3-Star Hotel in Thamel
Day 2: Flight from Kathmandu (1400m) to Lukla (2840m) then Trek to Phakding (2610m)
Take a 45-minute scenic flight to Lukla. After arrival, your Sherpa crew will guide you along the Dudh Koshi River to Phakding. Move gently to allow your body to adjust to the altitude. Overnight stay in a teahouse.

Day 3: Trek from Phakding (2610m) to Namche Bazaar (3440m)
Trek through Sherpa settlements like Bengkar, Monjo, and Jorsale, crossing the Dudh Koshi River. Pass through Sagarmatha National Park checkpoint. Arrive in Namche Bazaar and enjoy views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Taweche.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3440m)
Rest and acclimatize. Optional hikes to Thame, Khunde, or Everest View Hotel. Visit the Tourist Visitor Center to learn about Everest climbers and Sherpa culture. Enjoy views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho-Oyu, Thamserku, and other peaks.

Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazaar (3440m) to Dole (4110m)
Pass through Syangboche, Sanasa, and Phortse Thanga. Trek past Khumjung and along the Dudh Koshi River. Ascend through a rhododendron forest to reach Dole. Explore local stupas and meadows.

Day 6: Trek from Dole (4110m) to Machhermo (4470m)
Ascend via Lhabarma and Luza, observing diverse flora and landforms. Enjoy views of Kantega, Cho Oyu, Thamserku, and Ngozumpa Glacier. Conclude the trek at Machhermo village, where streams from Kyajo Ri and Phari Lapche originate.

Day 7: Trek from Machhermo (4470m) to Gokyo (4790m)
Climb a ridge to enjoy views of Mount Cho Oyu, then descend to the riverbank through Phangkha. Pass the moraine of Ngozumpa Glacier and reach Longpongo Lake, Taboche Tsho, and Dudh Pokhari, arriving at Gokyo village.

Day 8: Acclimatization Day at Gokyo (4790m)
Optional morning hike to Gokyo Ri for panoramic views of Everest, Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu. Alternatively, trek to Thonak Tsho or Ngozumpa Tsho lakes for additional acclimatization.

Day 9: Trek from Gokyo (4790m) to Dragnag (4750m)
Continue along Ngozumpa Glacier, with moderate ups and downs. Pass yak grazing areas and admire Tawache and Cholatse peaks. Overnight in Dragnag.

Day 10: Trek from Dragnag (4750m) to Dzongla (4830m) via Cho La Pass
Cross the challenging Cho La Pass (treacherous if snowy). Enjoy views of Cho La Lake and Mt. Cholatse. Descend carefully to Dzongla for overnight stay.

Day 11: Trek from Dzongla (4830m) to Lobuche (4910m)
Follow the moraine and glacial lakes toward Lobuche. Observe memorials for climbers, and trek along Imja Khola to reach the destination.

Day 12: Trek from Lobuche (4910m) to Everest Base Camp (5365m) then back to Gorakshep (5140m)
Ascend to Everest Base Camp from Gorakshep. Take in views of the Khumbu Glacier and surrounding peaks. Return to Gorakshep for overnight stay.

Day 13: Trek from Gorakshep (5140m) to Pheriche (4240m) after Early Sunrise at Kala Patthar (5555m)
Early morning climb to Kala Patthar for sunrise views over Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and other peaks. Descend to Gorakshep for breakfast, then continue to Pheriche for overnight stay.

Day 14: Trek from Pheriche (4240m) to Namche Bazaar (3440m)
Descend via Pangboche and Tengboche, passing forests, rivers, monasteries, and villages. Return to Namche Bazaar for overnight stay.

Day 15: Trek from Namche Bazaar (3440m) to Lukla (2840m)

Day 17: Final Departure or Onward Travel
Private transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home or onward destinations.
