The source of the Krka River is at the foot of the 22-m-high Topoljski buk, on the western side of the Dinara Mountains, near the city of Knin in the Šibenik-Knin County. The Krka River is 74 km long. It flows through the rugged and stone-rich Dalmatia. It flows into the Adriatic Sea in the Šibenik Bay. The most important tributary of the Krka River is the Čikola River, which rises in a protected landscape. The Krka and Čikola Rivers are accessible to tourists by car. The water level of the Krka River is high throughout the year. Waterfalls over the river in the national park overflow over travertine. Next in line is the 15.5 m-high Bilušića buk in Manojlovac, characteristic of Skradinski buk on the Miljacka. Several small towns are located in the Šibenik Bay. Along the river canyon within the national park, the Orthodox monastery of Krka was built in the 13th century as an endowment of Queen Jelena. A very attractive tourist destination is Roški slap, which is easily accessible. I can freely emphasize that it is located in a deep river canyon. At the heights of the canyon, you can reach the Cave, which is open to visitors, by stairs. Another important viewpoint is accessible by a karst path.

Visovac Island is known to fans of the development of the Christian Catholic community in Croatia. As Skradinski buk is an icon of the national park, much tourist infrastructure has also been developed on this site. Downstream, an estuary is developing where freshwater and seawater mix. After Prokljansko Lake, economic activities such as mussel farming are developing downstream. The river flows calmly towards the Adriatic Sea and disappears into the labyrinth of islands that make up the Šibenik archipelago.
